1.33: Daily Lookup Limits, an Honest W/L Record, and a K-zone That Tells the Truth
1.33 is mostly fixes to things that were quietly giving you wrong answers. We also added a daily limit on player lookups.
Player lookups now have a daily limit
Every gamertag lookup on DiamondOps is answered live by The Show's servers, and they cap how fast anyone can ask. One visitor hammering lookups could slow the page down for everyone. So lookups now have a daily allowance:
- Guests: 1 player a day
- Free account: 5 players a day
- Pro: unlimited
What counts is different players, not clicks. Opening someone's record, K-zone, recent games and individual game details, or coming back to them later that day, is one lookup. Your own gamertag never counts. A typo in a gamertag that doesn't exist is given back.
Your W/L record is honest about how much it read
We read up to about 500 games of history per player. Grinders have more than that, and their record was being worked out from just their most recent games without saying so. Now the record tells you when it's working from a partial history, so a 60% win rate over the last 500 games isn't passed off as a career number.
K-zone and game detail, fixed
- Game detail works again. Expanding a game on a player's history had been failing since July. It opens properly now.
- The K-zone head-to-head vs CPU split was backwards for Arena players. In Arena, The Show labels both sides of a game "CPU", and we were reading that as "this was a CPU game". Arena players' head-to-head games were landing in the CPU bucket. If you checked an Arena opponent's K-zone before this update, check it again. The old reading was wrong.
Faster and steadier
- Lookups no longer hang while our overnight jobs are busy talking to The Show. A player lookup now gets its answer, or a quick "try again", instead of spinning.
- Syncing your stats is much faster. If you've synced in the last week, a sync now reads about two pages of history instead of twenty, and a game you just finished shows up on the next sync.
Diamond Radar keeps its numbers through a weekly update
On roster update days, Est. Profit, upgrade probability and downside could go blank across the whole Radar until we'd reviewed the new update, even when it was a small weekly one. The Radar now keeps serving through a weekly update that's clearly minor. Anything bigger than a normal weekly update still holds those numbers back until we've reviewed it, because that's where holding back is the honest call.
