7th Inning XP Path, Michael Young Cornerstone & August Spotlight Drop 3 Are Live

A massive weekend of free-to-grind content lands, headlined by Boss-tier legends and a contact machine at shortstop.
The common thread running through nearly every reward on offer is elite contact and pitching stats that push the ceiling of what this card pool has seen. Several of this week's cards post OpScores well into triple-digit territory at the highest difficulty, which tells you a lot about the quality of the player pool dropping today. Whether you prefer to grind solo modes, battle online, or collect your way through program chains, there is a clear path to adding impact players to your Diamond Dynasty roster this weekend.
7th Inning XP Path
The seventh XP Reward Path is the backbone of this update and the longest grind of the three programs available this weekend. Progress is earned across any mode you prefer, which keeps it accessible whether you live in Battle Royale, play offline Conquest, or grind RTTS moments. Along the way you will pick up a steady trickle of packs and Stubs that help offset the time investment, including a Home Run Derby Choice Pack and an All-Star Night Choice Pack tucked into the middle stretch of the path — both solid bonuses that add collection value beyond the headline cards.
The first featured earnable is Prime Series Brian Dozier at second base, a switch-power profile whose right-handed power numbers are genuinely impressive and whose left-handed pop borders on elite. He is not a burner on the bases, but for a second baseman he offers a balanced offensive floor with the kind of pop that makes him useful in most lineups. He arrives before the midpoint of the path, so even players who cannot complete the full grind have a realistic target to chase.
The second in-path card, Milestone Series CC Sabathia, drops at the deeper stretch of the path and is a serious reward for the time spent. His velocity and break ratings are both maxed out, and while his control sits a tick below that ceiling it is still very high — the full attribute breakdown and OpScores visible on the card page show a pitcher who grades out especially well at the Legend difficulty. The Break Outlier quirk makes his secondary stuff even nastier in practice.
The payoff at the very end is a Boss Choice Pack offering either Awards Series David Wright at third base or Milestone Series Manny Ramirez in left field. Both are outstanding cards detailed further in the headline section below, but the choice mechanic is a genuine win for players since both cards sit at the top tier of the current meta. If you have any intention of playing regularly this week, committing to finishing the full path is absolutely worth it — the combination of mid-path rewards, two strong in-path earnable players, and a top-tier Boss Choice Pack at the end makes this one of the most rewarding XP Paths of the year.

Michael Young
The Michael Young Cornerstone Program is the most compact grind of the weekend, structured around a small set of Moments and XP tasks that celebrate the seven-time All-Star's career in Texas. The task count is light — just five Moments and two XP tasks — making this a program that most players can realistically knock out in a single session. The Reward XP bonuses built into the reward ladder also make it a smart early stop before diving into the longer XP Path, since those XP points flow directly into your overall progression.
The headliner, Cornerstone Series Michael Young at shortstop, is one of the most interesting cards to drop this weekend. His contact grades — both left and right — sit at the absolute peak of what the game offers, and his clutch rating is equally eye-popping. His vision is strong, his speed is solid for a shortstop, and he packs a loaded quirk list including First-Pitch Hitter, Dead Red, and Situational Hitter. His OpScores climb substantially at the higher difficulty tiers, suggesting he plays even better against elite pitching than his raw numbers imply. The only knock is that his fielding rating lags a bit behind the best defensive shortstops in the game, but offensively he is among the cleanest contact hitters available. For a free program that takes minimal time to complete, this is a clear must-do.

August Spotlight Drop 3
August Spotlight Drop Three continues the series' mission of turning current-season MLB hot streaks into Diamond Dynasty cards, and this third installment is the most ambitious drop of the three so far. The program runs sixteen tasks across Moments, XP tasks, and collection requirements, which is a heavier lift than the Cornerstone Program but still very manageable over a weekend. Completing the tasks in order also feeds a Reward XP bonus at two separate checkpoints, so your overall XP Path progress keeps climbing even while you work through this program.
Matt Wilkinson arrives first as a Topps Now starting pitcher with a control-and-break-first profile — his velocity is modest, but his control and break grades are elite, making him a finesse arm that can frustrate opponents who are not prepared for off-speed heavy pitching. Alec Bohm follows as a third baseman whose left-handed contact is exceptional and whose right-handed contact is still very strong; he lacks ideal speed and his power grades are inconsistent from side to side, but as a contact-first corner infielder he is useful. The program capstone is Spotlight Series Nick Sogard at second base, and he is genuinely excellent — maxed contact from both sides, outstanding discipline and vision, a strong clutch rating, and a quirk list headlined by Bad Ball Hitter and Table Setter that makes him a nightmare to pitch around. His OpScores rank among the highest of any hitter in the entire drop this weekend. The August Spotlight Pack included in the reward ladder also offers additional high-quality cards from this series, making the full completion even more appealing.

CC Sabathia

DiamondOps rating (OpScore): All-Star 95.5 · Hall of Fame 97.7 · Legend 98.4
Quirks: Homebody, Day Player, Break Outlier
Market: buy now 13,755 stubs · sell now 6,341 stubs
Milestone Series CC Sabathia is an elite left-handed starter whose ceiling pitching grades speak for themselves — maxed velocity and break, with control that sits just slightly below that peak. His stamina rating is high, meaning he goes deep into games rather than forcing you to reach for your bullpen early. The Break Outlier quirk amplifies the already-strong break grade further, and Day Player is a useful situational bonus for daytime game modes. His strikeout-per-nine versus left-handed hitters is exceptional, which matters enormously against platoon-heavy Diamond Dynasty lineups. At the Legend tier his OpScore is the highest it gets, confirming he is built to punish the best competition. The market buy-now price is already meaningful for a grind reward, suggesting the community recognizes the value here.
Michael Young

DiamondOps rating (OpScore): All-Star 96.4 · Hall of Fame 103.8 · Legend 105.4
Quirks: Homebody, First-Pitch Hitter, Dead Red, Situational Hitter, Day Player
Cornerstone Series Michael Young might be the sleeper hit of the entire weekend. Maxed contact from both sides combined with a ceiling-level clutch rating and elite vision make him one of the best pure hitters at the shortstop position in Diamond Dynasty right now. His quirk bundle — including First-Pitch Hitter, Dead Red, and Situational Hitter — stacks offensive advantages in ways that compound in late-game moments. His OpScores escalate sharply at Hall of Fame and Legend difficulties, placing him among the top offensive shortstops in the entire game at those tiers. The one area of caution is his fielding grade, which is respectable but not best-in-class at short. Still, for a free program reward, he is an outstanding pickup.
Nick Sogard

DiamondOps rating (OpScore): All-Star 103.1 · Hall of Fame 109.9 · Legend 112.2
Quirks: Homebody, First-Pitch Hitter, Dead Red, Bad Ball Hitter, Night Player, Table Setter
Nick Sogard as a Spotlight Series second baseman posts the single highest OpScore of any hitter dropping this weekend, and the attribute breakdown explains why. Both contact grades are maxed, his discipline is maxed, and his vision is exceptionally high — meaning he draws walks, makes contact, and punishes mistakes with regularity. The Bad Ball Hitter quirk extends his effective zone, and Table Setter makes him a genuine catalyst at the top of any lineup. He has respectable pop from the left side and enough speed to be a threat on the bases. His fielding grade at second is solid. Whether you need a leadoff bat or a middle-of-the-order contact anchor, Sogard does real work.
Manny Ramirez

DiamondOps rating (OpScore): All-Star 100.6 · Hall of Fame 100.4 · Legend 98.1
Quirks: Homebody, First-Pitch Hitter, Dead Red, Breaking Ball Hitter, Unfazed, Rally Monkey, Bad Ball Hitter, Situational Hitter, Day Player, Table Setter
Market: buy now 87,545 stubs · sell now 56,056 stubs
Milestone Series Manny Ramirez is one of the two options in the Boss Choice Pack at the end of the XP Path, and he is one of the most loaded left fielders in the game this cycle. His left-handed contact is maxed while his right-handed contact is very strong, and both power grades are well into elite territory. What makes him especially dangerous is the depth of his quirk list — ten quirks total, including Breaking Ball Hitter, Unfazed, Rally Monkey, and Bad Ball Hitter, which layer situational advantages across almost every game state. His discipline and clutch ratings are both outstanding. He is not a speedster in the outfield, but his bat alone justifies his position as one of the premier prizes of the drop. Market pricing reflects this, sitting at a premium among this weekend's cards.
David Wright

DiamondOps rating (OpScore): All-Star 103.1 · Hall of Fame 106.2 · Legend 105.4
Quirks: Homebody, First-Pitch Hitter, Dead Red, Fighter, Situational Hitter, Day Player
Market: buy now 62,500 stubs · sell now 50,000 stubs
Awards Series David Wright is the alternative Boss Choice in the XP Path, and he makes a compelling case for consideration alongside Ramirez. His left-handed contact is maxed and his left-handed power is elite, while his right-handed contact and power both grade out very well. What truly elevates him, though, is his fielding rating at third base — it is excellent, giving him a defensive edge over many corner infielders in the game and making him a two-way contributor. He carries Situational Hitter and Fighter quirks, adding clutch-moment advantages. His OpScores at Hall of Fame and Legend are very strong, and the current market price is significant, underscoring how desirable he is. Defensive-minded managers who want an elite third baseman will absolutely prefer Wright; pure sluggers may lean toward Manny.
Jimmy Rollins

DiamondOps rating (OpScore): All-Star 107.3 · Hall of Fame 112.5 · Legend 114.5
Quirks: Homebody, First-Pitch Hitter, Breaking Ball Hitter, Fighter, Bad Ball Hitter, Situational Hitter, Night Player
Market: buy now 0 stubs · sell now 882,000 stubs
Prime Series Jimmy Rollins is the Weekend Classic leaderboard reward locked behind the highest division of competitive play, and his stat line justifies the difficulty of earning him. Maxed speed combined with maxed fielding makes him a generational defender and baserunner at shortstop, and his offensive profile — particularly from the left side and with solid power — gives him real plate impact too. His OpScores are the highest of any position player featured this weekend, sitting at the top of the Legend tier, which signals elite competitive performance. The Fighter and Bad Ball Hitter quirks make him resilient in long at-bats. His market data tells its own story: demand is enormous and supply is effectively zero at this moment, making him one of the most coveted cards in the entire update.
Pedro Martinez
